I chose to become a medical oncologist because in my opinion this field is as challenging and rewarding as it can be. I like to listen to patients and discover what their needs are; I also pay attention to the “unspoken.” I do this by assessing and examining my patients as a whole person in the context they live and work. I work closely with other medical providers who often make initial diagnosis of cancer or blood conditions. Also, it is important to discover what their expectations, concerns and fears are. I am privileged to serve my patients in the community to the best of my knowledge and ability. My background in geriatric medicine can help with elderly patient as well. They have unique needs younger patient may not have and they deserve a little different approach. I also continuously update myself in novel advances on drugs and newest treatments options for patients.
